2016 Arizona State Fair Concert Schedule Announced


Arizona State FairThe Arizona State Fair has released its 2016 concert schedule.  Many music fans don’t really think of the Arizona State Fair as a source of live music, but it’s a great venue.  Concerts are in the Veterans Memorial Collesium which is still a fairly comfortable venue in which to see a concert. The 2016 concert line-up is:

  • Sunday, October 16, 5:00 PM           Luis Coronel
  • Wednesday, October 19, 7:00 PM    Scotty McCreery

Regular adult admission is $10 and general admission/open seating is free with paid admission to the Fair on a first-come, first-served basis.   Reserve seating tickets go on sale Saturday, September 10 on the fair’s website at www.azstatefair.com.  There are currently entry forms on the Fair’s website to win tickets before you can buy them.  The Fair runs from October 7 – 30 (Wednesday through Sunday) and is located at the intersection of McDowell Road, 19th Avenue and Grand Avenue.

In addition to the concert series, the Arizona State Fair this year will also have “Rock U: The Institute of Rock ‘N’ Roll” for an additional admission fee of $5.00.  The Arizona State Fair website describes it as,

Rock out at Rock U: The Institute of Rock ‘N’ Roll

Delve into the world of Rock and Roll as you experience the evolution of Rock and Roll throughout the years. Explore the foundations of Rock dating back to the 1950’s, as well as the Rock forefathers including Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and the Beach Boys. Enjoy an interactive multimedia display celebrating the live performance aspects of Rock and Roll in addition to listening stations focusing on live performances of the world’s favorite rock bands. Experience the progression of how we’ve listened to music through the generations all the way from the large living room console to today’s portable music players.  Wander through the different interactive stations that allow you to play and explore the basic instruments found in any rock band. Admission $5.
