Massachusetts-based hard rockers Killswitch Engage are bringing their hard-charging tour to the Marquee Theatre in Tempe on April 20.
KsE is considered to be largely responsible for the American metal and hard rock resurgence over the past 10 years, leading to a number of gold-certified releases. Incarnate, KsE’s March 2016 release, debuted at #6 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, at #3 on the Current Albums Chart and at #1 on both the Rock Chart and the Hard Music Chart. These are the band’s highest debuts ever.
The band commemorated the album release with a fully sold-out, five-shows-in-six-nights New York City residency. The intimate residency saw KsE playing Gramercy Theatre, Bowery Ballroom, and the Marlin Room at Webster Hall in Manhattan and at St. Vitus an
d Rough Trade in Brooklyn. It was the first time the band performed at any of those venues. It was also a unique approach to play 5 shows in 5 different venues in the same city in one week – and New York City fans responded by selling out the shows at all 5 venues.
KsE last appeared at the Marquee Theatre on April 9, 2016 (coverage here) in what was a kick-ass show. Based on recent concert reviews, it’s safe to expect that this year’s show will be just as awesome.
