Twelve-time Grammy Award-winner Shakira has announced that she is launching a 33-show El Dorado World Tour this winter. The Live Nation produced tour will stop in Phoenix at Talking Stick Resort Arena on Saturday, February 3, 2018. The tour spends November and December 2017 in Europe before launching in Orlando, FL on January 9, 2018.
Tickets for the El Dorado World Tour go on-sale to the general public beginning Friday, June 30 at 10:00 am local time. The tour will be in support of Shakira’s 11th studio album, El Dorado, which hit #1 on iTunes in 37 countries and held 5 of the top 10 spots on the iTunes Latino Chart within hours of its release. The 5x platinum album, including hits – “La Bicicleta,” “Chantaje,” “Me Enamoré,” and “Déjà vu“- currently holds the top spot on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums. This is Shakira’s 6th #1 album on the Top Latin Albums chart. Her single, “Chantaje” featuring Maluma, is already 16x diamond certified.
Over the course of her career, Colombian singer-songwriter and Grammy winner Shakira has sold over 60 million records worldwide. She has won two Grammys, eight Latin Grammy s, and a number of World Music Awards, American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards. Beyond music, Shakira founded the Pies Descalzos (Barefoot) Foundation at age 18. Shakira was named a member of President Obama’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics in 2011.
