Tour: AZ Innings Festival 2023 (https://www.inningsfestival.com/arizona )
On Saturday most all of the bands performed a high energy rock style of music. But on Sunday, things were mellowed out (a little). Also, the temperature dropped about 15 degrees (F) after a storm blow through in the early morning. Many of the bands wore jackets. A lot of people had more cold weather clothes and some even purchased tee-shirts to add layers to stay warm. However, it has clear to partly cloudy which was great. It was nice that the size of the crowd was smaller today then on Saturday (24,00 Saturday, 17,000 on Sunday). This allowed people to move around easier and the food lines smaller. However, the coffee and tea line was very long as people were trying to get something warm to drink.
Overall, it was a great 2 days of music. I would also like to thank Nicole and her security team in allowing us (the photographers) to use the Platinum Pass entrance on the main stage for the last 2 bands. It was next to impossible to move though the crowd to get the front on the stage to access the pit and this other entrance make our lives easier.
If you get a chance to go to next year’s Innings Festival, I would highly recommend it. You get to see a large number of great bands and also spend a little time seeing and listening to future Baseball Hall of Fame player. Personally, I had a great time and enjoyed all of the bands.
Again, the bands are being listed in reverse order to time of performance.
Eddie Vedder
Main Stage 9:30 – 11:00PM
Eddie Vedder is an American singer, musician, and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist and one of three guitarists of the rock band Pearl Jam. But lately Eddie has been performing solo. He plays acoustic guitar with a little electric guitar mixed in. It was strange to see an old 10-inch Reel-to-Reel tape deck on the stage next to Eddie. At least for the first 3 songs, Eddie only played acoustic guitar. After Pearl Jam had to cancel their European tour last summer do to Eddie hurting his vocal cords, it was nice to see the Eddie’s voice was as strong and good tonight.

The Revivalists
Right Field Stage 8:25 – 9:25PM
The Revivalists are an American rock band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2007. The eight-piece band consists of guitarist and lead singer David Shaw, guitarist Zack Feinberg, drummer Andrew Campanelli, bassist George Gekas, pedal steel guitar Ed Williams, Rob Ingraham on saxophone, keyboardist Michael Girardot and PJ Howard on drums and percussion. I really enjoyed the upbeat rock sytle of The Revivalists. The main problem was the sun had set and the frontal stage lighting was poor at best. This left lead singer David Shaw in the dark for most of the show. Only the members in the back of the stage had descent lighting.

Paris Jackson
Right Field Stage 2:15 – 3:00PM
Paris Jackson is an American model, actress, and singer. She is the second child and only daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. Initially she was in the Soundflowers, but in 2020 she left the group and started her solo career. She released her first solo single “Let Down” in October 2020 and then in November she released her first album, Wilted. Paris was joined by guitarist Michael O’Grady, bassist Nick Diiorio, and drummer Anthony Nino Salazar. It was sad that she seemed to have both mic and headset issues.

Hazel English
Main Stage 1:30 – 2:15PM
Hazel English is an Australian-American indie pop musician based in Oakland, California. She started the day off on the Main Stage at 1PM. Unfortunately, most of the attendees had not shown up and missed a very good performance by Hazel and her band. I really liked her voice. Hazel was joined by David Vieira, Blake Stranathan, Eric Sugatan and Daniel Possehl.
