Over the years I have seen a number of comedians. It stated when I visited Las Vegas with my parents back in the 60s. We would go to different shows at the hotels. Then when I moved to Phoenix in the mid-70s, I got to see George Carlin multiple time when he taped his comedy special at the Celebrity Theatre. Since then, I have seen a number of other comedians including Kathleen Madigan, Fluffy, Bill Engvall, Andrew Dice Clay, Larry The Cable Guy and many others.
Its not often that we see a young comedian hit it big. It usually takes many years of playing small comedy clubs before they get to headline at a major theatre and especially for 2 nights. Comedians can thank Saturday Night Live for helping to bring comedy back into the mainstream. Also, when Netflix & Amazon created specials promoting new comedians. Netflix has made Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias and Jeff Dunham international superstars. Netflix has also help promote a number of extremely funny women comedians, including LLiza Shlesinger & Ali Wong.
One of the newest young comedians that Netflix is promoting is Taylor Tomlinson. She is only 29 years old, but already has 2 fantastic Netflix specials under her belt, “Quarter Life Crisis” and “Look At You”. I have seen both of these specials and I could not stop laughing. She is just a little younger than my children but things she says sound like my kids and their friend. I could explain her specials, but you really need to see them to fully appreciate her humor.
Taylor is coming to the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix Arizona for 2 nights on September 16th & 17th, 2023. Both shows start at 7pm and tickets can be purchased at the Celebrity theatre box office. I hope to see you there. I am sure you will really enjoy the show. Taylor is amazing and extremely funny.
