On Wednesday night Wind Rose comes to the Nile Theater with their North American Warfront tour. If you have haven’t seen Wind Rose, they are an Italian Power Metal band that dress up as dwarf warriors similar to those from Middle Earth. I saw them last year when they toured with Rhapsody Of Fire. I remember 2 things from that night, 1st, Wind Rose had a huge following that some left once the band’s set was done. The 2nd was that crossing a mosh pit even when only a couple of people are in it is still dangerous.
I really enjoyed the music of Wind Rose and their fiery lead singer grabbed the audience from the start of their set and held them in his hands until they were completed. I was at the back of the crowd prior to Wind Rose entering the stage and it was so packed up front I had a hard time getting close to get any good photos. The fans are extremely passionate. When they did “Diggy Diggy Hole” the crowd when nuts, jumping and singing along. At times they were almost as loud as the lead singer.
Joining Wind Rose will be Xandria a symphonic metal band from Germany. I also saw Xandria last year when they were touring with Kamelot. After they let go their prior female singer and got a new one for that tour, I was concerned that they were not going to be the same. I was right and wrong; they were actually fantastic. The new lead singer, Ambre Vourvahis was amazing. She had a lot to live up to since also that night was Noora Louhimo of Battle Beast and Melissa Bonny who was with Kamelot. I really enjoy symphonic metal music and thought Xandria was great. I can’t wait to see them again.
If you want to hear some fantastic power metal and symphonic music then this is definitely a show you want to see. Also, this is a very reasonable cost concert. Tickets are $32.31 which includes service fee. This is a far cry from the hundred plus from some other shows lately. Tickets are available online at the website below and also available at the door. There is a clear bag policy and no lighters or E-cigarettes are allowed in the theater. I hope to see you all there.
