The new Innings Festival being held in March at Tempe Beach park has released more information, including its inaugural lineup, and it’s clear that Innings Festival is intent to make its mark on the Phoenix festival scene. The festival is timed to coincide with Cactus League Spring Training (hence the name) and promotes the appearance of baseball players during the course of the festival. Tickets go on sale this Friday, October 27, at 10:00 AM at inningsfestival.com.
Of particular interest, Dispatch will be performing at the festival. Dispatch initially performed together from the late ’90s until their last show in 2004. They left fans somewhat confused as to whether they were on hiatus or had completely split up and ended the band. The band performed 3 sold out shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in 2007 to benefit NGOs in Zimbabwe but didn’t really reconvene as a band. They reconvened in 2011 with a tour but never came through Arizona. Since then they’ve released a couple studio albums, EPs and a live album. Their most recent album, America, Location 12, which was released in June of this year. We’ll be particularly interested to see Dispatch’s return to Arizona during the festival.
