If you still can’t get enough music and baseball with Innings Festival, you’re in luck good readers!
On Friday February 27th and Saturday February 28th, the third installment of the Extra Innings Festival will take place at, you guessed it. Tempe Beach \& Arts Park. There is one difference between the two weekend “major league” festivals. Pardon the pun, I couldn’t help myself.
Instead of Innings’ focus on alternative rock, Extra Innings predominantly features modern country music. Headlining the Home Plate stage on Friday (2/27) will be Luke Bryan. Many will also flock to see Dierks Bentley, Poison’s lead singer Bret Michaels, Drew Baldridge and Lola Kirke.
The Right Field stage will feature Brothers Osborne headline over Muscadine Bloodline, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, The Brudi Brothers and Ian Harrison.
On the Left Field stage, you’ll have two editions of Off The Mound w/ Ryan Dempster and another All-Star Jam with Jake Peavy. At the Speed Pitch, fans can meet Tim Salmon and Jonny Gomes, as well as Jake Peavy once again.
And at the Batting Cage, you’ll find Kerry Wood, Jermaine Dye and Kenny Lofton.
On Saturday February 28th, the country continues with Kane Brown closing the Home Plate stage. It’s fair to say that Saturday will bring a lot of younger fans to the park to see Hardy, Shaboozey, Noeline Hofmann and Laci Kaye Booth.
You can head to the Right Field stage and check out the music of Jessi Murph, Chayce Beckham, 49 Winchester, Colby Acuff and Cole Phillips.
Just a friendly heads-up: you might want to bring a long sleeve shirt with you because it gets a little cool at night. Y es, it’s still winter… even in Arizona. But I digress.
As for the Left Field stage, Matt Williams and Bret Boone will be at the Speed Pitch booth. You can then meet JT Snow and Darryl Strawberry at the Batting Cage.
As you can see, there’s a little something for everyone. In case you were wondering, yes, it’s a family-friendly event. Enjoy!
Note: These events are cashless. You will need to either have a debit or credit card to purchase merchandise, food or drinks. They have a lot of venders providing food, but the lines can get long after 5:30. You can turn your wrist band into a payment method. Just talk to the Guest Services just outside of the park or at the booth in the park.
