Have you ever gone to a concert and just had fun. I mean, really enjoy the music, dance, sing along and at the end of the show you really feel great? Well, that was the way I felt at the BoDeans concert. I can remember when I just had a blast at a show and felt really happy at the end. Most of the time I am concerned with photographing and reviewing the show. But the BoDeans concert I didn’t fell like it was a job.
BoDeans is an American rock band formed in Waukesha, Wisconsin who came to prominence in the 1980s. The band’s sound encompasses multiple rock genres, including roots rock, heartland rock, and alternative rock. [Wikipedia]
Since the majority of their music was done in the middle to late 80s, I really did not hear of them. I was busy working and raising my kids. But I am always looking to discover new music and thought I would give this band a chance. Well, I was extremely impressed. They were amazing. For over 2 hours (with short intermission) we got all of the hits and a couple of deep cuts. The other thing I really liked was they flashed the words on the screen behind them so we could sing along. They reminded me a lot of the Pop bands that I grow up with in the late 60s.
I can VERY HIGHLY recommend seeing the BoDeans. If you are looking for some light and fun music, then they are the ticket. So far, they are one of the most fun bands I have seen this year.
