Today was the first day of the first weekend of the 2024 Innings Festival in Tempe Arizona. The Headline group of the night was the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Also performing were Greta Van Fleet, Jimmy Eat World. Here is the line-up for day 1. I have placed the band’s photos in order of appearance.

Breakup Shoes
Breakup Shoes is a 4-piece indie band from Phoenix, AZ consisting of me, Nick Zawisa, on vocals and guitar, Matthew Witsoe on drums, Derrick Lafforthun on bass and John Macleod on guitar.
Taipei Houston
Like the White Stripes, Taipei Houston are a two-piece garage-rock band helmed by people with the same last name. But that’s where the parallels end. Unlike Jack and Meg White, the Ulrichs are actual siblings. (1)
The Beaches
The Beaches are a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto in 2013 by Jordan Miller, Kylie Miller, Leandra Earl, and Eliza Enman-McDaniel. (1)
Bully
Bully is the solo project of American singer, songwriter and guitarist Alicia Bognanno. The project originally began as a rock band, formed in 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee. (1) At today’s show she had a full band backing her up.
Matt & Kim
Matt and Kim are an American indie electronic duo from Brooklyn, New York City. The group formed in 2004 and consist of Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino. The duo is known for its upbeat dance music and energetic live shows which often incorporate samples from other artists. (1) Personally, I really enjoyed them and loved Kim’s enthusiasm on stage.

Phantogram
Phantogram is an American music duo from Greenwich, New York, formed in 2007 and consisting of multi-instrumentalists and vocalists Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter. The band define their music as electronic rock, dream pop, electronica and trip hop, and have described their sound as “street beat, psych pop” (1)
Greta Van Fleet
Greta Van Fleet is an American rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan, formed in 2012. They remind me a lot of Led Zeppelin but with more flare.
Jimmy Eat World
Jimmy Eat World is a local Arizona rock band for Mesa, Arizona that was formed in 1993.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1982, comprising vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist John Frusciante. Their music incorporates elements of alternative rock, funk, punk rock, hard rock, hip hop, and psychedelic rock. (1) It was great to see all of the original members of the together again.
