Kaleo opened in support of Family of the Year at the Crescent Ballroom on November 24, 2015.  Kaleo’s a surprising band – group fo four young men from Mosfellsbaer, Iceland who sound like they’re from the depths of Mississippi.

Kaleo’s first hit, All the Pretty Girls dropped in mid-2014 and the band made its U.S. debut at South by Southwest in early 2015.  The SXSW appearance was critically received with Esquire naming the group one of 40 Bands You Need to Hear and making NPR’s Austin 100 list.  All the Pretty Girls peaked at 9 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs chart in mid-September 2015.  Prior to opening for Family of the Year, Kaleo opened for Vance Joy during the fall.

Kaloe’s music is virtually radio ready and matches well with other soulful artists like Sam Smith, Hozier, George Ezra and Vance Joy.  Watch Kaleo as they continue to evolve and release more music because my prediction is that they are a band with the potential to go big very quickly.  And to realize that their 4 kids from Iceland who sound like they’re from the heart of the American south – just amazing.  And no worries if you missed them this to through Phoenix because they’ll be back on March 13, 2016 for the McDowell Mountain Music Festival.
