With all of the concerts I have been to, it is really strange for me to go to a show that I have never seen any of the bands. The 2 main bands, Train and Barenaked Ladies began in the late 80s and early 90s. Both band’s style is a rock with some pop.

Train was the headliner of the concert. Their 95-minute set covered a wide range of shows from their entire career. Pat Monahan is the current front man and singer. He is backed up by Jerry Becker on keyboards and rhythm guitar, Hector Maldonada on bass, Matt Musty on drums and lead guitarist Butch Walker.

Pat was amazing. His voice was clear and dynamic. Overall, the band was tight and well oiled. Their performance was flawless.
When they performed a John Mellencamp cover, “Jack & Diane”, they were joined by Matt Nathenson. Ed Robertson of Barenaked Ladies joined Pat to sing “Meet Virgina / Take Me Home, Country Roads”.
Pat had his son, Rock Monahan come out to perform 2 songs with the band. Rock played both guitar and sang on songs, “Stone In Love” and “Vacation”.

My family listened to Barenaked Ladies from the beginning of their career. It is really strange I have never seen them. I was super impressed by their performance. They played all of their great hits including their mega hit, “Big Bang Theory Theme”.
I was very impressed when they performed “One Week”. It is a very fast vocalization of lyrics. They even put the words on the massive screen behind them. The only issue was the idiot behind me that was attempting to sing along with them and was incredibly horrible.
If you are a Barenaked Ladies fan then you will love their performance. You will get all of the songs that made them popular with you. They are just one of those bands that is just fun to listen to and see.
I really enjoyed finally hearing both Train and Barenaked Ladies. Both bands exceeded my expectations. If you get a chance to see either of these bands, I very highly recommend it. If you can see them together, it is a no brainer.

The concert started with Matt Nathanson. He is a singer song writer that mixes rock with folk music. His performance was good. I can see him performing at different festivals or in small venues. If you are into folk rock music, then you should check out Matt.
