Tour: A Vile Caustic Attack Tour 2019
Lately most of the big metal bands playing in Phoenix area have been coming from Europe. But tonight, we were privileged to see and hear 4 very good death metal bands from the USA. Nile is from Greenville, South Carolina and Terrorizer is from Los Angeles, California. They were joined by 2 local Phoenix, Arizona area death metal bands, SaintBreaker and Brutal Covenant. From the very start it was a night of intense mosh pit activity. The one thing I can say about the mosh pits tonight, they were very physical, but if anyone fell, the group would stop and help that person up.
I listened to both Nile and Terrorizer prior to going to the show and I can say that their live performance was much better compared to the studio music. Now, granted I was listening to MP3s with headphones, but the live experience was so much better. If you get a chance to see these great death metal bands, I would highly recommend them.
For whatever reason they seemed to have gotten the sound issues fixed from one of the previous shows I attended at Club Red. Also, the person running the lights tonight seemed to understand that all blue or yellow light for an entire band’s performance is not great.
Sorry, I only have the setlist for Nile. If anyone has the setlist for the other bands, please email at fkuhlman@beneathadesertsky.com and I will update the review with the data.
Nile

Nile was formed in 1993 and hail from Greenville, South Carolina, USA and have been unleashing brutal Egyptian and Lovecraftian inspired Technical Death Metal upon the masses ever since. In the past 26 years they have produced 9 studio albums with their first album being released in 1998. Their latest album, Vile Nilotic Rites was just release in 2019 and for tonight’s show they played 3 song from it. They also played something from each of their studio albums except for Ithyphallic.
The current touring line up consists of guitarists Karl Sanders and Brian Kingsland with bass player Brad Parris and drummer George Kollias. There is no single lead singer, but Karl, Brian and Brad all provide vocals. The driving force for the music was provided by the double bass of George on drums and the thundering bass lines by Brad. The power riffs by both Karl and Brian provided the frenzy that drove the mosh pit to ever fast rotations. No only were the mosh pits very active, but almost everyone in the audience was head-banging or head-spinning with the music.
