The day was hot but that did not deter families from heading to Downtown Phoenix for a night of musical family fun! The lines were formed by mostly teenagers, younger adults and mothers who were accompanying their children. Everyone was buzzing with excitement for the night and all the amazing things that were going to take place.
Tonight’s show was special because of two beautiful things. First the show was being put on by Joshua Bassett and Thomas Day. Second the show was the first show of the tour! It was the night these two amazing artists were going to kick off their new journey while playing their music that means so much to everyone.
The first artists to kick off the night was Thomas Day. Day got his first hint of the musical spotlight on America’s Got Talent. He performed “Break My Heart Again” by Finneas. He was set to come back, but dropped a bomb on his followers telling them that he had resigned and would not be performing but fans were left disappointed and speculated why he did not return.
He came onto the stage will a bout of energy, this man could not stand still on the stage. He ran and danced back and forth across the stage. he gave all his fans the chance to see him up close. All his fans went wild and screamed as he neared. His fans sang along to every song. He even graced everyone by getting on the piano and played for a couple minutes.

The final act of the night finally came to the stage. More fans had slowly made their way into the venue filling up the general admission standing area. Fans tried to squeeze their way to the front of the stage. Bassett got his start and rose to fame on Disney Channel’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Not only is Bassett a singer but he is also an actor and philanthropist.
If you thought Day had brought the energy to the concert, then you would have been mistaken. Bassett brought everything he had and more to the show. The second the lights dimmed and the music started he ran onto the stage. The stage had a T shape extension so he could walk out into the crowd. He ran from every side and angle of the stage. He shook his fans hands while he sang, showing them that he truly cared for their support.
He also sat himself on his large white grand piano and serenaded his audience. They were eating every moment up; screaming and singing their little hearts out. At one point Bassett jumped on top of his grand piano and jumped off. He landed the jump by connecting it into a summersault roll! In the end he created a night that these young adults will cherish with their parents who brought them. He performed his heart out and showed everyone why he deserved to be there and why he loved what he does.
