In the late 60s and early 70s a number of rock bands came out of the south that fused country, jazz, blues and rock. This new style of music became known as Southern Rock that included such greats bands as the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top and of course The Marshall Tucker Band. Over the course of 45 years, The Marshall Tucker Band has produced a number of gold and platinum albums and have had their songs in a number of movies. The band is currently fronted by founder and lead singer Doug Gray. He is joined by guitarists Chris Hicks and Rick Willis, bassist Tony Black, Marcus Henderson on sax, flute and keyboards and finally B.B. Bordon on drums.

They started the show with “Running Like The Wind” to everyone enjoyment. The band might be playing smaller venues these days, but their fans are still as fervent as ever. As Danny Zelisko, the promoter, indicated prior to the show, the show had been sold out for over a month. From my viewpoint, the crowd was into it and having a great time from the very started, dancing and singing along to all of the hits. During a number of the songs, different band members would get together in the middle of the stage and jam. The very best was when both Chris and Rick were joined by Marcus with his sax.

They ended the main set with “I’ll Be Lovin’ You” were Doug pointed the mic at the crowd and let us sing the intro and chorus to the song. At this point the some of the fans in the crowd started to come forward to get that beloved cell phone photo of the band. Doug gave one very lucky lady his tambourine. After a very short break, the band came back for their encore and played “Can’t You See”.

I know that this setlist is a little off. The band did 2 country/ballad style songs in the middle of the set that I did not get. If you have the information or can help me update this setlist I would appreciate it. This setlist comes from the bands on stage setlist.
