Went out to see a friend of mine perform (his 2nd time as professional) with a Judas Priest cover band.  We have a little bar here on the west side of the valley, the 44 sports Grill & Nightlite that is sometimes lucky enough to bring in a small touring band, but most of the time it just caters to local bands.  Tonight, it was 2 local cover bands, Invasion & Priest IIInvasion is a Van Halen cover band.  It is a 4-piece band.  They were good and performed a good set of Van Halen songs.  But I was there to see my friend perform with Priest II, a Judas Priest cover band.  They were fronted by a very good female singer and front person.  My friend, Matt Gronhovd played lead guitar.  They are a 5-piece band that has 2 guitarists.  This was the first time I had seen Priest II and they were very good.

Personally, I would recommend going out to see these local band (or other local bands).  The last year I have attempted to see and cover more local bands.  These band perform very well and usually put a lot of energy into their performances.  I also like to see a lot of people at these shows to help support these bands.  Normally the local bands have a merch table and I recommend you get something from them to help the bands out, but these 2 bands did not have that tonight.

I would also like to recommend these local bars.  I know that the 44 Sports Grill & Nightlite has excellent food.  Personally, I recommend the nachos, they are amazing.

So, I hope to see you at one of these local bars supporting our amazing local bands.
