We use to only have one weekend of music here in Tempe, Arizona for the Innings Festival. But two years ago, they expanded the event to include a second weekend and it was called the Extra Innings Festival. While the Innings Festival is Rock & Roll and Indie music, the Extra Innings Festival is a combination of Country and Indie music. There is still Baseball events, baseball plays show up and baseball discussions during the 2 days.

Again, we had a beautiful day with temperatures in the mid-80s and clear sunny skies. It was nice that they put green carpet down over a large part of the field by Home Plate to help cut down on the dust and dead grass. Crowds were a little smaller than last Friday, but we still had a very good turnout.

Today we had a 10-band day. The day started off with Red Leather at the Right Field Stage. Just like with Good Boy Daisy last Saturday, the sound system had issues. It got so bad that he jumped off the stage and climbed up on a platform by the audience fence and played acoustic guitar and sang a couple of songs. Finally, they fixed the sound system and he climbed back on stage and they continued the concert.

I am not a big fan of country music, but I did enjoy the bands today. The standout band for me today was Trampled By Turtles. They are a group of musicians that play an assortment of instruments.

I also enjoyed Lily Fitts. She has a very nice voice.

Unfortunately, I was not allowed to photograph Megan Moroney.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable day. I recommend you go to next years Extra Innings Festival if you like country music. You get to see a number of very good band all in one day, The first bands up only get 30 minutes, the middle bands get 45 minutes with the headliners getting the most time of over 1 hour each.

Parking is available at a number of places near the park. Personally, I park at a Park N’ Ride lot and take the Light Rail to the Tempe Mill Ave & 3^rd Ave stop. It is only about ¼ mile walk to the park, about the same as the closest parking lot. It only costs $4 for a round trip ticket on the Light Rail, while the parking lots can cost $30 or more.

The Extra Innings Festival was on Friday February 28^th and Saturday March 1^st. Again, they sell a 1- or 2-day pass for the Extra Innings Festival. There are 3 levels of pass, General Admission (GA), the VIP and Platinum pass. I believe the best deal is the VIP pass because it provides better stage view areas and also has a seating area near each stage. If you have issues walking or just want the best viewing area then the Platinum pass is fantastic. If you get the Platinum pass they provide a shuttle, golf carts that moves you between stages. This can be nice since the Right Field stage and Home Plate stage are about ¼ mile apart. Also, there is a limit on the number of Platinum passes each day so you are guaranteed a good view at each stage. This allows you to see every group.
